A mer-mazing mer-ternity session at the beach

"I really want to look like a mermaid"

When Erin found out she was pregnant with a girl (mom of 2 boys!), she was so excited for all the fun and femininity girls can bring. We were talking about her maternity session and her number one goal was to look and feel like a beautiful mermaid. For her last maternity session, she was pregnant with Theo (the adorable little toddler below!) and our vibe was castle princess. Due to unforeseen circumstances we weren't able to use the castle for the last session, so we were determined to make this vision come into life even more.

We picked out the perfect dress (credit to www.shopchicaboo.com) and the color couldn't have been more perfect to realize the vision. We headed to the beach and battled the sun and wind to turn this beautiful mama into a perfect mer-mama!

You can imagine the challenge involved with both a toddler and pre-teen boy involved in a photo session, so we did our best to get them smiling early on and then released them to go fly a kite (no, literally, they went to fly kites!) While they had fun, Erin and I had even more fun focusing on her and making her feel as beautiful as she looked.

There's just something about not only the serenity of the color palette that the beach brings, but I feel like when I look at photos of the beach I can hear the ocean and the seagulls and it just feels so magical! I guess that's why I got married on a beach!
