A fall family sunset session

I'm rounding off my fall family session blog posts with one of my favorite families ever (am I allowed to have favorites?), the Maloney family! Ashleigh is a friend of mine I met at barre - she used to teach classes and, by teach, I mean virtually torture every soul in the studio (in the nicest way possible). She and her husband have 2 adorable children, one is a beautiful little angel who loves the camera and the other an adorable little terror requiring endless bribes of candy in order to sit still. I'll let you guess who is who :-)

We returned to Mack's Apples for our session as we did the previous year, but this time in a new spot to keep things fun and interesting. As with all family sessions involving young children, I always try to keep things fun and keep the kids engaged with games, secrets, and a little upside-down time. Not only are children often difficult to pose (especially when there's more than one under the age of 18), but I find parents often cherish the candid moments to add some variety to their walls and freeze the real emotions in time. I do love classic posed photos, too, though because they never go out of style (except maybe the ones taken in the 80s)...

I also love shooting at sunset so much - the light is always so dreamy and golden and perfect, especially in the fall! Amirite?! Now I'm sitting here dreaming of beautiful weather and dreamy sunsets... hurry up and go away, Winter! My mama don't like you and she likes everyone.
