a fall engagement at larz anderson

It's snowing in New Hampshire... again... I know, it's only March and that's what happens in March in New England. It's still Winter, after all. However, having just spent 2 weeks in Key West and Costa Rica less than a month ago, the frigid temperatures and frozen precipitation hurts my soul a little more. I'm a water child, but I prefer my water warm in a pool, in the ocean, underneath a boat, you catch my drift.

Nonetheless, it's still Winter; but Spring is, indeed, around the corner and with it comes wedding season. I'm not a wedding photographer and don't have any current plans to become one, but there is something magical about weddings (when you aren't planning your own) and I couldn't pass up the chance to photograph my friend's engagement session last fall. They got engaged right around the same time as Mike and I, so we share a special little engagement bond!

I met Johnny and Heidi a few years ago through my {gasp} husband (it's still weird to say that). They, like my husband, are into cars, so in the summer we like to meet up for some local events. This past fall, we met up for one of the last car shows of the year at the Larz Anderson Museum in Brookline, MA. Next to the museum is the beautiful Larz Anderson Park, so we took advantage of the backdrop for their session.

Together with Johnny and Heidi comes Bella, their teeny and adorable Italian Greyhound. Since Bella typically goes everywhere with mom and dad (as allowed), naturally she wanted to be part of her parents' exciting next chapter. Can you blame her?

I had a blast shooting this session and though I'm not photographing the wedding, I can't wait to watch you two say I do!
