Hey there, Delilah... you're ONE!

I can't believe it; a year has come and gone and Delilah is already one! This is a special post because Delilah isn't just any one year old, she's basically a niece! She's our best friends' daughter and *technically* she did attend my wedding (in utero). She's the smartest cookie you'll ever meet (just this morning I got a video of her opening the baby gate...) was so determined to walk, she made it a point to make sure she was fully walking the day before her birthday!

To celebrate, Delilah's mom threw her a first birthday party fit for an explorer. Complete with delicious Dora themed treats made by our friend and baker extraordinaire Sweets by Jenna (@sweetsbyjenna) AND a bouncy house, this party was better than any I've ever seen before! No pressure for all the other parent's of almost-1-year-olds... including me in about 6 months when I have to compete with all the Christmas parties and NYE ;-)

Following her perfect party, Delilah told us the cupcakes weren't enough and she wanted a real cake to smash. So, naturally, we listened and @sweetsbyjenna delivered again on the perfect little smash cake! We started off with a few family pictures outside before Daddy took off for his golf day, then took the party back inside to smash some cake!

I'll admit, I was pretty jealous of Delilah because look at how delicious this cake looked! Not gonna lie, though, I totally stole a bite.

Smash that cake, girl. You earned it! And as a bonus, she even helped us clean up at the end!

I hope you had a great first birthday, baby girl! Can't wait to continue to watch you grow into the smartest, spunkiest, and silliest little girl!
