I've pondered the idea of starting a blog for a while, but since I've had so many fun and exciting things happening recently, I thought it made sense to go ahead and relive them here. Social media is a great tool for sharing photos and short stories, but I always find myself wanting a bit more story behind the photos I see. Speaking of a little more story, I suppose I'll use my first blog post as an opportunity to tell you all the story about me! Just in case you were wondering...
I'm a born and raised New Englander; I grew up in Massachusetts and now have since settled in southern New Hampshire with my Fiancé, Mike, and our dog, Lucy. We met 14 years ago when I got my first job at Panera Bread; he had been working there during the summers while in College and I was just getting my first high school job. Our friendship stuck through the years and it wasn't until more recently we decided to roll the dice and see if there was more to it. Fast forward till now and we are still best friends (cliche, I know), experiencing life together and planning our wedding in tropical Key West, FL.
I have two brothers, a (almost) sister-in-law, one Papa and two wonderful sets of parents whom I'd give the world to. I am also the proud auntie/ godmother to my beautiful niece, Grace, who has become my little world since she entered it, and future auntie to Mike's niece, Emmy, who is turning 3 next month and filled with nothing but joy and an adventurous personality.
I've always enjoyed photography since high school when I was forced to take an art elective. I thought wood-working was for the boys and I really wasn't interested in much else, but I was always the one with the camera at gatherings so I figured I'd give it a try. My uncle gave me my first camera (a Canon something-or-other, film obviously) and eventually I got bored before I could master it. A few years later, I decided to pick it up again and bought myself a Nikon digital SLR. I've been shooting Nikon ever since. After about 8 years of photographing for fun, I decided to offer my services professionally and see where it takes me. I'm unsure of where it will go next, but having a fun time getting there!
My blog will be a combination of my personal and professional photography ventures, so hopefully you'll enjoy at least some of it or will just casually scroll by with no hard feelings ;)
